For over 40 years, I have worked at the intersection of medicine, mental health, lifestyle medicine, nervous system healing, and human resilience.

I am a German-trained physician with additional training in natural medicine, lifestyle medicine, brain health, stress physiology, nutrition, and whole-person wellness — and I have also personally walked through severe chronic illness, chronic pain, depression, psychiatric hospitalization, and long-term recovery.

That journey forever changed how I understand healing.

Today, I help people worldwide navigate burnout, nervous system dysregulation, emotional exhaustion, gut-brain health, chronic stress, and safe psychiatric medication deprescribing support in collaboration with their healthcare teams.

I believe healing is rarely about quick fixes.

It is about rebuilding health thoughtfully, compassionately, and sustainably across all dimensions of life.

My Journey Through Illness, Medicine, and Recovery

Many years ago, my life changed dramatically.

I was a successful physician in Germany when severe physical illness, chronic pain, and depression gradually dismantled the life I once knew.

I became the helpless patient.

There were seasons when survival quietly replaced living.

At times, I lost my health, my work, my certainty, and nearly my hope.

But over time — through medicine, lifestyle changes, nervous system healing, learning, persistence, faith, and the support of others — I slowly rebuilt my life.

Not perfectly.
Not quickly.
But genuinely.

That experience transformed not only my health, but also my understanding of medicine, suffering, resilience, and what truly helps people heal.

It taught me that human beings are far more complex — and often far more resilient — than modern medicine sometimes acknowledges.

My Philosophy of Healing

I believe health is multidimensional.

True healing involves far more than symptom management.

Physical health, mental health, emotional resilience, relationships, meaning, sleep, stress, nutrition, purpose, and nervous system regulation constantly influence one another.

My work integrates:

  • conventional medical understanding
  • lifestyle medicine
  • functional and integrative approaches
  • nervous system regulation
  • mental health support
  • gut-brain health
  • sustainable habit change
  • education and self-awareness

I do not believe in fear-based wellness, perfectionism, or simplistic answers.

I believe thoughtful education, compassionate support, and small sustainable changes often create the deepest long-term transformation.

A Few Things I Deeply Believe

I believe:

  • people deserve compassionate and truthful health education
  • healing is rarely linear
  • medications can sometimes save lives
  • nervous system health matters profoundly
  • burnout is often misunderstood
  • gut health and brain health are deeply connected
  • meaningful lifestyle changes matter
  • perfectionism often harms healing
  • small sustainable steps matter more than dramatic temporary changes
  • hope matters
  • people are more resilient than they realize

And I believe there is usually more hope than people think.

Sometimes Survival Quietly Replaces Living...

The Work of Being Human

Being human is not about perfection.

It is about learning how to live through uncertainty, exhaustion, loss, rebuilding, meaning, change, hope, healing, and becoming.

Over the years, both medicine and life taught me that many people are not broken.

They are overwhelmed.
Emotionally exhausted.
Disconnected from themselves.
Living in survival mode for far too long.

My work is not about quick fixes or perfection.

It is about helping people rebuild health, meaning, emotional vitality, and a life that feels more fully alive again.

How I Work

I work best with thoughtful, high-functioning people who are ready for honest reflection, meaningful change, and sustainable rebuilding.

This often includes:

  • burnout recovery
  • emotional exhaustion
  • nervous system overload
  • rebuilding after illness or collapse
  • life transition and reinvention
  • reconnecting with meaning and vitality
  • physician and caregiver burnout
  • psychiatric medication tapering education
  • recovering from years of survival mode

My approach combines:

  • medical understanding
  • lived experience
  • nervous system awareness
  • reflective conversation
  • practical strategy
  • compassionate accountability
  • education
  • meaning-centered healing

If Something Here Resonates With You…

You do not need to rebuild everything overnight.

Healing is rarely linear.

But sometimes meaningful change begins with one honest conversation.
