Working with Dr. Christine Sauer

Sometimes Survival Quietly Replaces Living

Many high-functioning people quietly spend years surviving instead of truly living.

They continue working.
Caring for others.
Performing.
Achieving.
Functioning.

But internally, they may feel emotionally exhausted, disconnected, overwhelmed, burned out, anxious, discouraged, or no longer fully themselves.

Over time, many people lose touch with their energy, meaning, vitality, direction, emotional safety, or “sparkle.”

My work is designed for thoughtful people who are ready to begin rebuilding — slowly, honestly, and sustainably.

The Work of Being Human

Being human is not about perfection.

It is about learning how to live through uncertainty, exhaustion, grief, stress, illness, disappointment, meaning, rebuilding, healing, and becoming.

Over the years — both through medicine and lived experience — I came to understand that many people are not broken.

They are overwhelmed.
Emotionally exhausted.
Living in survival mode for far too long.

Healing is rarely linear.

And meaningful rebuilding often begins not with pressure or performance, but with honest reflection, nervous system safety, sustainable change, and reconnecting with what truly matters.

Who I Work Best With

My work is especially aligned for:

  • burned out physicians and healthcare professionals
  • emotionally exhausted high-functioning professionals
  • caregivers who have lost themselves while caring for everyone else
  • thoughtful, sensitive, intelligent people navigating burnout, overwhelm, or life transition
  • people rebuilding after illness, emotional collapse, chronic stress, or major life disruption
  • individuals searching for greater meaning, emotional vitality, and sustainable ways of living

My Approach

My approach combines:

  • physician insight
  • lived experience
  • nervous system awareness
  • reflective conversation
  • practical strategy
  • compassionate accountability
  • lifestyle medicine perspectives
  • meaning-centered rebuilding

This is not quick-fix coaching.

And it is not endless emotional processing without direction.

Our work together is designed to help you:

  • understand what may be contributing to burnout and overwhelm
  • stabilize and support your nervous system
  • rebuild sustainable habits and routines
  • reconnect with meaning and emotional vitality
  • reduce overload and internal chaos
  • move from constant survival mode toward a more grounded and fully alive way of living

When You Have Plenty of Ideas—but No Clear Next Step

Sometimes the problem is not a lack of insight, motivation, or ideas. It is having so many possible directions that you cannot tell which one deserves your energy now.

I know that experience personally. My mind can feel like a stormy fishbowl of ideas: interesting projects, possible solutions, and new paths all moving at once. Before I had the right support and processes, I started many projects and finished very few. More ideas did not solve the problem. I needed help turning ideas into decisions and decisions into manageable action.

Thoughtful coaching can provide a second vantage point. Through focused questions and honest dialogue, we can:

  • separate what matters now from what can wait;
  • clarify the values and needs underneath a decision;
  • notice patterns that keep creating overload or avoidance;
  • choose one realistic priority;
  • map the next few steps instead of trying to solve the whole future; and
  • build accountability that is supportive rather than shaming.

Two questions to begin

  1. What do I most want to be different?
  2. What is the smallest meaningful step I am willing and able to take next?

Good coaching does not hand you a guaranteed result or make decisions for you. It helps you hear yourself more clearly, evaluate your options, and create a path you can actually follow.

My coaching is educational and supportive. It does not diagnose or treat medical or mental-health conditions, and it does not replace care from an appropriately licensed professional. If symptoms, safety concerns, or clinical needs are present, we will treat that boundary seriously.

How The Process Works

Initial Conversation

We begin with a free introductory conversation to explore:

  • your situation
  • your goals
  • your challenges
  • whether we are a good fit for working together

Ongoing Mentorship

Sessions are structured, focused, reflective, and practical.

Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes and typically includes:

  • reflection and discussion
  • practical next steps
  • nervous system-aware rebuilding strategies
  • educational guidance
  • agreed implementation work between sessions

Meaningful Change Requires Participation

This work functions best when there is:

  • honesty
  • consistency
  • reflection
  • willingness to engage with the process

Sustainable rebuilding requires active participation and gradual implementation over time.
